I am annoyed because I didnt immediately spot it and score a Spangram First, although I did have the fleeting thought there are a lot of Zs in todays game without realizing why.

The words of this puzzle remind me of Morrisseys under-appreciated 2017 song Spent The Day In Bed , a jaunty anthem in celebration of skiving while others are striving that includes the typical Morrissey line I'm not my type, but I love my bed. Strands is the NYT's not-so-new-any-more word game, following Wordle and Connections. It's now a fully fledged member of the NYT's games stable that has been running for a year and which can be played on the NYT Games site on desktop or mobile.
