G305 X Superlight: Review The Logitech G305 X Superlight is a lightweight wireless gaming mouse. Logitech is no stranger to this category, but this addition to its G305 line aims to keep things relatively simple while including some surprisingly advanced features relative to its price point.

It has quite a basic appearance, with a lack of branding or any odd contours. Theres an RGB light strip that looks too small to be effective, but it
manages to brighten up the G305 X Superlight to an impressive degree especially the black model thanks to its wealth of animation customizations. (Image credit: Future) The overall build quality is great, too, adhering to Logitechs typically high standards. Despite how light the unit is (it weighs just 61g), its surprisingly solid, lacking any flimsiness or hollowness. The plastic body is smooth with just a hint of texture that feels tactile and
just as premium as the best gaming mouse shells. Furthermore, all of its buttons and the scroll wheel are solidly planted without a hint of play. Latest Videos From TechRadar Watch full video here: Logitech G305 X
Superlight (White) at Currys for 99.99 To customize the inputs (as well as
the aforementioned RGB lighting) of the G305 X Superlight, youll need to download Logitechs G HUB software. In one section, youll find five configurable DPI sliders that you can set to a range between 100 and 44,000 you can then cycle through these using the dedicated button on the G305 X Superlight, which is thankfully placed on top rather than underneath, making it easy to access. You can save your five settings as a custom preset or select from several provided by Logitech, catering to various game types and scenarios something I havent seen much in peripheral software.

In another section, you can reassign all of the G305 X Superlights buttons. There are a large number of assignments available, ranging from a multitude
of system and media commands to keyboard inputs and mouse adjustments. Youll also find custom actions for Discord, Overwolf, OBS, and Streamlabs Desktop. Whats more, a second mapping layer is available via Logitechs G-shift
feature, which is accessed by holding down a button of your choosing. (Image credit: Future) However, there arent any performance-related tweaks for the G305 X Superlight; you cant alter the lift-off distance or debounce times,
nor can you enable motion sync or angle snapping, for example. About the only feature in this area is what Logitech calls BHOP mode. This is designed to prevent accidental knocks of the scroll wheel from registering by ignoring
the first scroll event unless a second is performed within a certain time frame (adjustable between 100ms and 1000ms).

Such omissions didnt spoil my time gaming with G305 X Superlight, though. Its low profile suited my grip style, and the rear hump was just about prominent enough to sit comfortably in my palm without being obstructive. Also, I could grip the mouse securely with my thumb and ring finger during lift-offs thanks to the sidewalls that narrow as they reach the bottom, making up for the lack of grip tape or embossing. Maneuvering the G305 X Superlight is easy thanks to that aforementioned lightness, too. And despite the relatively small skates, swipes were smooth and frictionless on my mouse pad. This was the case even when I had the USB cable attached a surprise given it isnt braided as many gaming mice cables are. Although it created some noticeable drag, its still lighter and more malleable than your average rubber cable. (Image credit: Future) As for the mouse buttons, I appreciated the ergonomics of their downward slant and
subtle indentations. Clicks are solid yet snappy, with a good amount of feedback and a surprisingly deep travel. This means spamming is relatively effortless while accidental taps are unlikely to register. The side buttons are easy to reach and actuate, too.

The scroll wheel is easy to flick thanks to its light notching, yet theres still just enough feedback to make single scrolls easy to perform. However, there were a few occasions when scrolls triggered when I pressed the middle button. This button can also feel quite firm if you dont hit it at precisely the right angle, which can make presses awkward, but with practice this
    became less of an issue.

I had no problems with the connectivity of the G305 X Superlight. It
connected to my devices via both Bluetooth and the 2.4GHz dongle without a hitch, and hot-switching between them was quick and easy thanks to the selector button underneath. Youll also find a handy slot here for storing the dongle. (Image credit: Future) It is a shame theres no native 8KHz support, although most PC gamers probably wont need it . Taking everything into consideration, though, the G305 X Superlight is a great value gaming mouse that offers high performance and has a pleasing amount of features at this price point. Logitech G305 X Superlight review: Price & availability $79.99 / 69.99 / AU$149.95 Available now in black or white Good price for a wireless gaming mouse The Logitech G305 X Superlight costs $79.99 / 69.99 / AU$149.95 and is available now. Two colorways are available: black and white. A USB cable is included for charging and wired play, but it isnt braided. There are also no spare skates or optional grip tape to adhere to the sidewalls or
    mouse buttons.

Nevertheless, the G305 X Superlight is well priced for a gaming wireless
mouse that has two wireless modes. It also performs very well and has a generous number of input customizations, although it lacks
performance-related adjustments. Its much cheaper than the Razer Viper V4 Pro , even though that mouse has a similar number of input customizations and no additional Bluetooth support. However, we loved virtually every aspect of its performance when we tested it, and gamers may find its form more ergonomic.

If youre looking for something even cheaper, the Cooler Master MM311 is one
of the best value gaming mice around right now. We were impressed with its light and symmetrical design, as well as its fast performance. Again, it doesnt feature Bluetooth support, and you also have to supply your battery, but its hard to complain too much about such omissions when its so cheap.
