That's according to tech experts at Digital Foundry , who suggest that after the recent information drop on the game, pre-order screenshots, and other footage, they're still not convinced that GTA 6 will allow for a 60FPS mode. The main concern is the game's CPU demand on current-gen consoles, PS5 , Xbox Series X , and Series S , which will likely be extensive. Latest Videos From Watch full video here:

"In RPGs, dense city locations are the most likely to drop frame rates, and the GTA 6 world looks another level of magnitude more challenging than the likes of Dragon's Dogma 2 or Baldur's Gate 3 ," Digital Foundry said.

There's also the matter of traversal, whether it be by ground, sea, or air, and vehicles will "require their own computationally expensive physics, of
the kind that normally forces console simulation games to 30FPS." For this reason, "60FPS feels like a bridge too far." The CPU limitations would mean that GTA 6 will launch at 30FPS on PS5 Pro; however, it notes that a 40FPS mode could be possible if 60FPS is off the table. It's worth noting that GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 also launched at 30FPS on last-gen consoles, but Rockstar later released 60FPS updates for current-gen consoles, including PS5, Xbox Series X, and Series S.

If GTA 6 launches at 30FPS, a 60FPS mode post-launch update could be in the cards.

Rockstar has yet to reveal the finer details, but GTA 6 pre-orders have officially begun.

The game will launch on November 19 and will cost $79.99 / AU$129.95 / 69.99 for the Standard Edition and $99.99 / AU$159.95 / 89.99 for the Ultimate Edition. Pre-loads begin on November 12.
