It handles all the work of weighing out the correct dose of coffee, grinding it, tamping it down, and then pulling a shot, but because this doesn't happen inside an enclosed case, cleanup is a piece of cake.

Fully automatic coffee makers can get gross inside, with moisture and stray coffee grounds making a nice home for bacterial and mold. Here, however, you only need to wash out the portafilter basket, keep the drip tray clean, and run a bit of hot water through the groupset after brewing.

I admit that I'm also charmed by the way the Baristina automatically slides the portafilter handle underneath the brewing group once the coffee has been ground and tamped.
