The developer took to X in the wake of recent speculation that a cross-generation release is planned for later this year. "Not sure where this one started, but it's not true," the new post reads. "The next Call of Duty

Prior to this announcement, some rumors had indicated that the next game
would skip the previous generation platforms in order to deliver some more significant technical upgrades than other recent entries.

This upcoming Call of Duty title is widely expected to be a new entry in the rebooted Modern Warfare sub-series. The latest leaks point to it being titled Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 with a storyline that takes the Task Force 141 team to Korea.
