But hold on for a second. There could be a good reason to wait if you're not in a rush to buy today.
See all of today's Kindle deals at Amazon Now, first up, these Kindle deals aren't exactly bad. The Kindle Paperwhite is down to $134.99 (was $159.99), while the newer Kindle Colorsoft has dropped to $189.99 (was $249.99). Those are good prices for both ereaders outside of a major sale.
But, there is one big thing to consider: Prime Day. Amazon's yearly members-only sale usually takes place around early July, and that's when we regularly see the lowest prices for the majority of the retailer's own-brand devices including Kindles. Last year, for example, the Kindle Paperwhite was down to $124.99 for Prime Day. That may only be $10 cheaper than today's price, but if you're already signed up for Amazon Prime, then you'll want to take advantage of the best offers. Whatever you decide to do, know that with the Paperwhite and Colorsoft, you're getting one of the best ereaders available, according to our testing. While the Kobo is a worthy rival, these mid-range devices are excellent picks for most readers.
