Empire v3.1 - your rulers can now fight other C-Net/5 boards

Empire is the land, grain and army game by Warren Peace and Crazy Cad,
1990-93. Version 3.1 adds an InterBBS league: rulers on linked C-Net/5
boards share one standings table, and they can challenge each other.

A challenge is Empire's own store-and-forward duel, the one you already
have. The challenger is frozen as they stand, and the defender meets
those numbers whenever they next take the field. It simply travels
between boards now. There is no live cross-board fight - two rulers on different boards are never at a prompt at the same moment, and
pretending otherwise would mean a caller waiting on a network round
    trip.

    What joining costs you:

    o A TCP stack. bsdsocket.library v4 - Roadshow, AmiTCP, or
    Amiberry's bsdsocket_emu
o One config file and one hourly event. Nothing in Emp.Config,
no new menu, no change to bbsmenu
o NO AmiSSL. The league runs over plain HTTP and signs every
request instead, so joining costs you no extra software and no
TLS handshake on a 68000. Your key never crosses the wire
o NO FTN. You do not need to be on any network to take part
o No working clock, even. If your Amiga's timezone is an hour out
for half the year, the client notices and corrects for it

If you never join, nothing changes. The Fight menu only grows its
League option once the league has actually sent you a roster, so a
board that is not in it sees the game it always had.

FOR C-NET/5 AMIGA PRO ONLY. It is an ARexx door using C-Net's own
ARexx port and file layout. Other Amiga BBS software does not have
those, so there is nothing in this archive for them. Written and
    tested on 5.37c under Amiberry.

    Standings are public: www.rofbbs.com/empire/

To join, email [email protected] and I will send you a board id
and key. Setup is Emp.Readme6 inside the archive - five steps, and the
    whole of it.

Download Empire31.lha from Reign of Fire BBS:

    telnet call.rofbbs.com port 6800
    ssh ssh [email protected]
    dial-up (423) 541-8271

Reign of Fire is the only distribution site for this archive. The game
itself is free software for any Amiga BBS - that is John and Chris's
grant and nothing here narrows it - but please point people here for
the package rather than re-hosting it, so there is one current copy.
