A diabetic does need to worry about blood sugar, even if eating no starch. Obvious
starchy foods are not the only source of carbohydrate.
Sweet foods and even green vegetables contain carbohydrate. protein can be converted

Test your blood sugar regularly or wear a continuous glucose monitor.
