• What are the best ways to reduce wrinkles on the face?

This is definitely one of the questions I get asked most as a cosmetic chemist, and I
always tell people the truth which sometimes leaves people disappointed. There are
some effective options available , but you need to be realistic about what each approach
can do and how long it takes to see results.

The face is always exposed to the sun so the best way to reduce wrinkles is to use sun
protection every day. This is a fact. I dont see any other way as we cant just stop
    aging.

The sunscreen doesnt reduce wrinkles, but it prevents them to get worse. Now once you
do have established this healthy habit, you also want to work with your genes and lastly
seek the help of some science backed skincare ingredients (there are a handful, dont
    expect a long list).

Recent studies have shown that genes are not your life sentence; they can be influenced
through lifestyle. I encourage you to embrace a healthy (yes, boring) lifestyle which has
a lot to do with consistency.

As far as skincare, the most powerful treatment for facial wrinkles is still retinoids , and I
say this with complete confidence base d on decades of research. Prescription tretinoin is
the most potent retinoid: it's the only topical ingredient that can actually reverse some
signs of aging, not just prevent them. It works by increasing cell turnover and
stimulating collagen production deep in the dermis.

Vitamin C serums are excellent too, particularly for prevention (SPF boosting effect) and
brightening. I always recommend L-ascorbic acid (pure vitamin C) or magnesium ascorbyl phosphate (more stable, less irritating derivate). Use vitamin C in the morning
time and retinoids at night. Don't use them together because they can be too much.

Another product that has done wonders for me is the hyaluronic acid serum. Hyaluronic
acid keeps the skin hydrated so that it looks plump with no fine lines. I use this serum
every morning right after cleansing: its refreshing, fast absorbing and leaves my skin
    supple- absolutely love it!

For deeper wrinkles, honestly topical products have their limitations. This is where
professional treatments like Botox for dynamic wrinkles (the ones cause d by muscle
movement) or dermal fillers for volume loss can make a huge difference.

When done by a skilled practitioner, these treatments can literally take years off your
appearance. I know they're not for everyone, but for significant wrinkles, they're often
    the most effective option.

Chemical ex foliation is also a great option for wrinkles. In particular the results my
customers are having with glycolic acid are sensational. Regular exfoliation removes
dead skin cells and stimulates new cell growth, which smooths out fine lines and
    improves texture significantly.

Remember the most successful approach is combining different methods rather than
relying on one single product. Consistency with a simple and science based routine will
    always beat a complicated one.
