Just installed Commodore Vision OS on my old IMAC which I kinda find pretty cool just because :-)

Never even heard of the Commodore Vision OS until the other day. I know that some commodore phones and new commodore computers have been released, but this was a new one on me. From what I hear the ISO use to be a 33Gb download. They have shrunk it down to around 10gb now. Its packed full of every EMU, rom, oldschool mods, etc one could think of.

I'm still playing with it and find it pretty cool, I may end up putting my Vision/3 BBS that I have been playing with on it before letting it go live.

Just for the heck of it :-)

Isn't it so much fun... all the stupid animations and bloat - but I love it. Nothing better for old hardware than ROCKING on legacy software from 40 years ago.

I love all the things we have access to in 2o26... nerd out, r0ckstar... nerd out.

Although I agree with the sentiment, it's not the Commodore OS from days gone by, it is Debian with some bells and whistles with Vice already installed so old Commodore software can be emulated. I installed it on a VM a year or so ago, and it was just bloatware in my opinion, I run many VM's which only run BBS' and all run on Vice, so what I do is run a simple XFCE desktop install Vice from source add in all the bells and whistles on Vice and just put a Commodore wallpaper.. LOL Makes sense for me.. I like the idea of it just hate the bloat of the software..

I completely understand, from a hardware lovers point of view... but for the normie, it still gets them learning about C= software so; I like it. :P

But I hear ya... certainly doesn't help anyone understand how to set Disk 8 to 9 or other THINGS. :P
