Dude - I was wrong. In my brain I was thinking Linux Journal, which I do have... now I want to find a zLibrary page on Linux Format, tho... you've awakened the beast! I will find it. :P

I did find this archive.org collection, but it seems to be the CD-ROM/DVDs from the magazine. :(

I've got quite a few Linux Format magazines, and probably still have some of the coverdisks.

Linux Format is where my Linux journey started. With the very first Linux Format magazine from 2000, where they had Definite Linux 7.0 as the cover disk.

With just that magazine and the coverdisk, I started playing around with this OS I knew almost nothing about.

Your experience is very much like mine boraxman!

I pre-date you ever so slightly, with Linux Answers, the godfather of Linux Format. It lasted 1 press before becoming Linux Format, IIRC. On the coverdisc was Red Hat Linux 9.. or maybe it was Corel Linux .. I forget.

The crazy thing is, Linux Format issue one came out on the 5th May 2000, making it exactly 25 years ago. I feel old. Very old.

Ahh yes, it is May 2000. Wasn't sure of the month, but I bought it on a Friday evening in September. It probably would have been Corel Linux. Red Hat Linux was still at 6.2 I think at that time.

What I like, is many of the programs I ran back then, still worked. Little things like oneko, xsnow, xpenguins, FVWM, xeyes, etc.
